Our Story
Redisson began in 2013 with a deliberate philosophy: Java developers shouldn't have to think in raw Redis commands to work with Redis. We set out to expose Valkey and Redis through the abstractions Java engineers already use every day and went further, introducing 30+ distributed objects and services not available in Valkey or Redis themselves, including Bloom filters, rate limiters, fair locks, live objects, map reduce, and reliable messaging. We also brought Valkey and Redis into the standard Java ecosystem with full implementations of JSR specifications such as JCache (JSR-107) and JMS (Java Message Service), so teams can adopt Redisson behind the APIs they already build against.
That approach resonated. More than a decade later, the open-source Redisson client has earned over 24,000 GitHub stars and become a default building block for distributed Java systems around the world. It runs in production at banks, airlines, telecoms, retailers, insurers, and software companies on every continent - from single-service caches to globally distributed real-time platforms.
